GIANT’S ANNUAL BUBUR LAMBUK GIVEAWAY RETURNS TO CELEBRATE RAMADAN FOR THE 6TH YEAR
Kuala Lumpur, 31 May 2018 - To usher in the holy month of Ramadan, Giant is organising its 6th Annual Bubur Lambuk Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative with the theme “Berhati Mulia di Bulan Ramadan”.
One of Giant’s most memorable annual initiatives, it is part of the hypermarket’s various programmes that support local and underprivileged communities around the country. It is an avenue to contribute to communities who have helped in making Giant one of the most trusted brands for Malaysian families and serves as an opportunity to further strengthen relationships with its customers at every level.
The bubur lambuk giveaway in 2017 was a huge success with over 30,000 tubs distributed to communities around Giant hypermarkets nationwide. Giant’s Bubur Lambuk distribution will take place at 33 locations nationwide this year. This included locations in both East and West Malaysia and 7 locations within the Klang Valley.
Included in this will be Giant’s commitment to ensure that Malaysians from all walks of life enjoy the celebration at locations like Hospital Kuala Lumpur Pediatric Cancer Ward and Rumah Transit Gelandangan Kuala Lumpur included. Customers at participating Giant hypermarkets can also look forwards to the famous bubur lambuk from the Masjid Kampung Baru eatery as well as special appearances by TV Al- Hijrah celebrities such as Syafiq Liow, Azidah Mohamed, Fadzli Aziz, Harry Zainal, Nana Ng, Raja Sofie and Zawazi Yusof to surprise and delight them as they visit.
This year will also see a collaboration with TV Al-Hijrah for the second time, which will be chronicaled through on air programming, online image and story sharing and media campaigns to ensure that the initiative benefits as many communities as possible.
Apart from the national bubur lambuk campaign, giant will also be holding a “Kotak Jariah- Berhati Mulia Di Bulan Ramadan” initiative to benefit and help charity homes and organizations around the country. The kotak jariah will be placed at the exit of participating Giant hypermarkets, each representing different charities, where customers are encouraged to drop bought items that they would like to donate. The donation drive will take place in the last 10 days of Ramadan from 1 June to 10 June 2018, and is expected to benefit over 130 homes and impact up to 5000 lives.
In the spirit of giving this Ramadan and leading up to Raya, Giant is also holding several contests and giveaways; the Visa-Giant Spend and Win Contest and the Raya Packet Giveaway. Shoppers who spend a minimum of RM80 with their Visa payWave card can stand the chance to win the new Vivo V9 and Giant vouchers worth up to RM500. Shoppers at giant who spend a minimum of RM60 in a single receipt will also receive a limited Raya Green Packet in conjunction of the festivities.
